After a long summer of pink on my paws I’m ready for some darker tones! To prepare for this transition I did what everybody does, I went to target and bought 10 new polishes. Ok, not everyone does that but I think we all should! Some I like, some I love, and some I’m giving away. The ones I absolutely love are what I’m sharing here.

The Breakdown

Brown: I’d like to be dressed in a head to toe brown knit outfit (Stella Mccartney anyone?) wearing brown lipstick and this Marc Jacobs polish.

Green: For me this Nails Inc color is the perfect carryover from the tropical palm prints of Spring/Summer.

Blue: I started this post with five different blues. So forgive me for keeping two but it could have been way worse. Sally Hansen’s “Prompt Blue,” is so bold and statement making that I feel a little badass wearing it. Essie’s “Aruba Blue,” gives a similar feeling of badassed-ness and would go really well with one of those tattoo chokers.

Pink: If I were a nail polish I would be Pink Satin by Sally Hansen. Its so unassuming but I basically morph into Rihanna when I wear it.

Pearlescent: When I noticed these coming back into circulation all I could associate it with was grandmas. It depends on how you use it of course, but I love that this MAC one is intended as a topcoat. That way it can transform and expand your current collection.

Gray: Kylie jenner.

I noticed that the colors I like the most are the most prevalent colors in my closet. Coincidence? Not even, fashion’s “it” colors transfer to nail lacquer as well (check out the pantone color report and see).

What colors are you into for fall? Do you have a favorite nail lacquer brand I should check out? Let me know in the comments.

P.S. Brown and gray are hard to get right. I suggest picking those up in store so you can hold the bottle next to your skin, and make sure it doesn’t give you that dead flesh look.
